Who Am I?

A nurse to trade, I learnt to bake at my grandmother's knee. I come from a long line of amazing farmhouse bakers and cooks, with recipes, techniques and traditions passed down through the years, lovingly preserved from one generation to the next.

I operate Hill Cottage Cakes from an 18th century cottage on the edge of the village of Auchinleck in the beautiful Ayrshire countryside, called Hill Cottage, funnily enough!

When I'm not baking I am out in the yard or the field with our three horses, or pottering around the cottage garden where I grow an array of roses and cottage garden favourites which inspire my floral designs.

I sometimes foray into the world of craft fairs and country shows, so you may see me selling my wares when you are out and about, so please do pop by and say hello, it's always lovely to meet people and talk cake!

Our mission

We aim to keep the art of Scottish bakery alive and well into the 21st century with a focus on the old favourites while embracing the new

Our vision

We want people to be able to have a show-stopping cake for their function no matter their budget, and will work with you to achieve this - we can even provide just the sugar flowers if you want to make your own cake but are a wee bit shaky on the decorating front!
